STUDENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

"Applications are being accepted through September 13, 2005 for students interested in volunteering at the SC05 conference in Seattle, Washington, part of an annual conference series that focuses on the development and application of high-performance computing and communications technologies. Undergraduate and graduate student volunteers are needed to assist with the administration of the conference and will receive in exchange, free conference registration, housing for out-of-town volunteers, and most meals.

"Student volunteers have the opportunity to see and discuss the latest high-performance networking and computing technology and meet leading researchers from around the world while contributing to the success of this annual event.

"For additional information on the program and the online application, visit SC05 Student Volunteer Program or email students@sc05.supercomputing.org."

LAN party?

Would there be any interest in holding a LAN party next weekend (9/2 or 9/3)? Is that even possible to plan in this short of a timeframe? I'm thinking there will be a lot of lost and lonely first-years looking for something to do... Friday is the organization fair. You could pass out flyers at that and go through the dorms, post to e-net etc.
