Duke Career Fair

Hi All,
Duke University will be holding a career fair at the end of the month! I'm excited.

Here's the info.

January 26, 2007; 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The Spring Career Fair, also held on campus in the Bryan Center, is targeted primarily to those students interested in internship positions. This Fair provides an opportunity for interaction regarding specific summer opportunities as well as networking with students who are still evaluating different full-time options.

If anyone needs a ride, let me know.

Hope you are ready

Winter term is going to be a great term because it will be a term of preparation. As most of you (or at least the officers) saw with last term's events, planning ahead played a crucial role in making it run smoothly. I think that planning much farther ahead than 2-3 weeks will make the LAN party, Installifest (whatever it's called) and whatever else we have planned for the spring run much smoother and cause a limited amount of stress on the people involved in it. Since Funk and the others have gotten a handle on the fest, I will start working on the LAN party. What I am asking of you all is to put down 4 things:
  1. Desired Game (Include Preferred System if multi-platform)
  2. Desired Drink (Non-alcoholic)
  3. Desired Tournament(s)
  4. Before or After Spring break?
I will take an inventory of each comment as well as what is discussed in the meetings and then make a decision on what will be offered. I am shooting for having all that figured out by the beginning or end of February, so that the officers can get the drink order in, have posters made AHEAD of time, make the tournament website(s), and figure out who is bringing what. I appreciate everyone's help with this and realize that this post isn't only for the current ACM, Eric, Matt, Warren, and whoever else wants to make their wishes heard just post a comment and I'll add it to the bunch. Hope you all had a wonderful break, but unfortunately it is time to get back to work :) .

Irregular schedule

Welcome one and all (those of you who returned, anyway) to Elon University Winter Term 2007! This random little semester has a tendency of messing everything up since half of everyone has class when we should be meeting. I propose we push back meeting times to 6:30 in the same old Duke room (third floor Duke, room 302ish) on Tuesday evenings. This Winter Term schedule should fit in everybody's schedule. Earlier times conflict with BTB classes (including the awesome Linux class taught by Funkhouser among others), and later times conflict with good TV.

Everybody comment, tell me what you think. Tell other people who might not read this blog. Get the word out. The ACM has a lot to do, and we can't take Winter Term easy.
